General Information:

On this page, you will find general information about my teaching studio. Lessons are custom-fit to your needs and goals as a player. I work with each student to build a solid technical foundation on their instrument while exploring the types of music they enjoy and want to play.

Format:

  • Lessons occur weekly, at the same scheduled time each week.

  • Lessons can be held in-person at my home, in-person at the student’s home, or online. I am located in the Baby Point neighbourhood of Toronto’s west end.

Rate:

  • 30-minute lesson - $30.00

  • 60-minute lesson - $60.00

  • Payment is due before the start of the lesson and can be made monthly or on a per-lesson basis.

  • Cash, cheque, and email transfer are all accepted (receipts are available upon request).

In-Studio:

  • For lessons at the instructor’s home, students will need to bring their instrument, a patch cable (if playing electric guitar), and any current books we are working through.

  • Amp and music stand will be provided.

  • Note: In-Studio availability is current limited to weekday afternoons.

Online Lessons:

  • Online lessons will be held via Google Meet or Skype. In addition to their instrument, the student will need a phone or laptop with a working camera & microphone, as well as a pair of headphones to prevent feedback while playing.

  • Please prepare a quiet, dedicated space in your home for the duration of the lesson.

In-Home Lessons:

  • I am happy to travel to your home for our lessons, with the following additional considerations:

    • Please prepare a quiet, dedicated space in the home that will be free from distractions and other activities for the duration of the lesson.

    • A mileage rate will be added to the lesson cost, calculated at $7.50 per half hour of travel, based on total travel time between my home address and yours.

    • In-home lessons are 60-minutes only.

Cancellation Policy and Make-up Lessons:

  • If either the student or the teacher needs to cancel a scheduled lesson due to sickness, travel, or other schedule conflicts, please provide as much advance notice to the other party as can be managed.

  • Lessons cancelled by the student are non-refundable.

  • Lessons cancelled by the instructor due to illness are non-refundable; make-up lessons can be scheduled within the current semester.

  • Lessons cancelled by the teacher due to scheduling conflicts (i.e., performance/rehearsal bookings) will either be refunded or rescheduled within the semester, at the student’s discretion.

Note: If the standard rate is beyond your budget, please feel free to reach out. I am open to discussing flexible pricing options to ensure that everyone can learn the instrument they want to.

Thank you! Please feel free to contact me for any further inquiries.
